Our Story
Our Story – How Yak Thai Came to Be
Yak Thai didn't start in a large production hall, but with an idea – and a person without whom Yak Thai wouldn't exist in its current form.
In December 2020, the desire arose to create something that was virtually non-existent in Germany:
authentic Thai sausages, produced locally, but with a true taste from Thailand.
The driving force behind this idea is Chonticha – with her culinary knowledge, her family recipes, and her keen sense of flavors.
The first attempts take place at home. They are tried out, refined, and rethought – always under Chonticha's guidance and with the aim of preserving tradition and authenticity.
What began as an experiment quickly turned into a clear vision.

In February 2021, Yak Thai is officially founded and the brand name is registered throughout Europe.
A heartfelt project becomes a company with the goal of not adapting Thai specialties, but preserving their original character.
The path to reality is initially pragmatic:
The first "operating facility" is a storage container.
A simple start that nevertheless allows for building initial structures, testing processes, and gaining experience. Chonticha always remains the head of the recipes – every recipe bears her signature. Up to this point, a befriended butcher produces our sausage specialties for us.

As demand grows, new solutions become necessary.
From June 2022, a particularly important phase begins:
We expand our product range in the production kitchen of a good friend.
This support allows us to produce under professional conditions, continue to grow, and prepare for the next step.

In parallel, we move into our first office in Wolnzach.
The location serves as an exhibition space, office, and shipping warehouse and becomes the organizational center of Yak Thai.

But the dream of our own production remains.
In January 2023, it becomes tangible:
We sign the contract for our own production facility, a former butcher shop, which offers ideal conditions for our project.
Here we begin to build our own machine park – with the goal of producing independently and fully controlling quality and craftsmanship ourselves.

In June 2023, we move in.
The new production facility becomes the current headquarters of Yak Thai and marks the beginning of a new chapter.
With the start of our own production, the product range also continues to grow steadily.
In addition to our sausages, we now also produce curry pastes and Thai sauces ourselves – according to our own recipes, developed and refined by Chonticha, inspired by traditional Thai cuisines.
The growth continues.
In January 2024, we expand the production area again and add our own showroom.
A place where our products, our philosophy, and our history become visible and tangible.

Yak Thai receives EU approval as a meat processing plant.
This creates the basis for Europe-wide distribution of our products and underlines our commitment to the highest standards in quality, hygiene, and food safety.

Today, Yak Thai stands for authentic Thai taste, artisanal quality, and the courage to build something sustainable from an idea – driven by passion, experience, and the ambition to combine the best of two cultures.
