Did you know?

"Yam is a verb": In the Thai language, "Yam" is not only "salad," but is actually a verb meaning something like "to mix" or "to toss." A "Yam" is therefore a "mixed salad."

A dressing for almost everything: The Nam Yam dressing is a kind of "all-purpose weapon" in Thai cuisine. With just a few ingredients – lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and chilies – countless variations of salads can be conjured up.

Yam salads are often lukewarm: Many Yam salads are served lukewarm – this intensifies the aromas and ensures that the spiciness of the fresh chilies comes into its own particularly well.

Yam stalls at the market: In Thailand, there are so-called "Yam shops" – small market stalls or restaurants where you can have your own salad put together from different ingredients. Like a salad construction kit with Thai flair.

Enjoy your meal, your Yak Thai team.
