Did you know?
"Moo" means pork: "Moo" (หมู) is the Thai word for pork. You can also prepare the dish with chicken (Gai), beef (Neua), or tofu – the name changes accordingly.
Without coconut milk: Unlike many other Thai curries, Pad Prik King is prepared without coconut milk. This makes it drier and more intense in flavor.
Extremely adaptable: Pad Prik King is a popular street food in Thailand, and every food stall has its own version – sometimes sweeter, sometimes spicier, sometimes with kaffir lime leaves or even crispy pork belly.
Great with rice: The dish is very salty and spicy, which makes it perfect to eat with jasmine rice. In Thailand, it is rarely served on its own – rice is a must!
