Did you know?
“Moo” means pig: “Moo” (หมู) is the Thai word for Pork . You can also prepare the dish with chicken (gai), beef (neua), or tofu—in which case the name changes accordingly.
Without coconut milk: Unlike many other Thai curries, Pad Prik King is prepared without coconut milk. This makes it drier and more intense in flavor.
Extremely adaptable: Pad Prik King is a popular street food in Thailand, and every food stall has its own version – sometimes sweeter, sometimes spicier, sometimes with kaffir lime leaves or even with crispy pork belly.
Great with rice: The dish is very salty and spicy, making it perfect with jasmine rice . In Thailand, it's rarely served alone—the rice is a must!
