Did you know?

"Yam is a verb." In Thai, "yam" doesn't just mean "salad," but is actually a verb, meaning something like "to mix" or "to blend." A "yam" is therefore a "mixed salad."

A dressing for almost everything: Nam Yam dressing is a kind of "all-purpose weapon" in Thai cuisine. With just a few ingredients – lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, and chilies – you can conjure up countless variations of salads.

Yam salads are often lukewarm: Many yam salads are served lukewarm – this intensifies the flavors and ensures that the spiciness of the fresh chilies comes through particularly well

Yam stalls at the market: In Thailand, there are so-called "yam shops" – small market stalls or restaurants where you can have your own salad made from various ingredients. It's like a salad kit with Thai flair.

Enjoy your meal, your Yak Thai team.
